Job Description:Â
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Multimedia Journalist to join our team. This role involves creating engaging content across various media platforms including online articles, video reports, social media updates, and podcasts. The ideal candidate is a skilled storyteller with a strong news sense, excellent writing abilities, and proficiency in multimedia production.Â
Â
Key Responsibilities:Â
- Research, write, and produce compelling news stories for WIZM News and lifestyle content for Around River CityÂ
- Create and edit multimedia content, including video, audio, and graphicsÂ
- Conduct interviews, both in-studio and in the field, to gather information for storiesÂ
- Collaborate with team members to ensure high-quality and timely publication of contentÂ
- Manage social media accounts by posting updates and engaging with the audienceÂ
- Attend local events to cover news and generate content for Around River CityÂ
- Stay updated on local news, trends, and events to keep content relevant and engagingÂ

Skills and Qualifications:Â
- Proven experience in multimedia journalism, preferably in a local news or lifestyle settingÂ
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skillsÂ
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar softwareÂ
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and strategiesÂ
- Knowledge of the La Crosse area and the region is a plusÂ
- Educational background in journalism, communications, or a related field preferredÂ

Work Environment:Â
- Primarily in-office with some flexibility to work remotelyÂ
- Standard working hours: Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PMÂ

Job Details: A Business Development Specialist spends 75-85% their time prospecting for new business and building relationships with members of the local business community to make them aware of the suite of marketing services Mid-West Family has available to help their business grow both awareness and revenue. This career is about shaking hands, building trust, and selling marketing strategies to the local business owner that achieve ROI for that business.
